Page Five. My favorite page yet. For everyone asking me if there would be actual dialogue in the SG comic, here ya go.
I love this page because it really does start to give the girls some character beyond appearance. We start to get a feel for their individual personalities.
Appearance is still important, and I love that Nic worked in a very Bowie-esque make-up job for Sam. In fact, I think this week’s music pairing would be some ‘Ziggy Stardust’ playing in the background. I imagine clubs on Mars would have a certain affinity for Bowie…

Darn it these updates come by so slowly, but that is the price of the top notch quality they possess and I’d sacrifice quantity for quality whenever possible.
I am a bit sad that the show is already over. I guess it’s good to speed things up when the comic is just starting, but I am expecting to see more pages about the actual rockshows in the future, you hear!?!
I’ll be honest here and tell you I hate made up slang, especially en masse. Every time someone in Batman Beyond said SCHWEY my choking hand starting flinching.
I think it’d be funny if Vicky (accompanied by Sam) gave Taryn shit for her future-slang.
Otherwise awesome! I am also in favor of seeing more of the concerts, but I realize that you’ve got to keep the pace going fairly quick with a one week update schedule on the web. Still, fantastic art!

As far as the slang goes, there is nothing here that’s “made up”, per se. Mars slang is sort of a combination of UK, Australian, Indian, and surfer/sk8er slang, among other real-world lingo. For example, “naff” is a British slang word:

Terms like “yestersol” or “lastsol” are sort of common sci-fi ways of addressing time on other worlds. On Mars, a solar day is a sol. Hence, “lastsol.”
So, I get what your saying and we appreciate any input. I, personally, love fraking made-up sci-fi slang, but that’s just me. What would Red Dwarf be without smeg?
